Create:Fixate’s 12-Year Anniversary Celebration
At Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 22, 2013 – Arts organization Create:Fixate (C:F) presents Dreams on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles.  Beyond C:F’s signature blend of vibrant artwork and eclectic music produced by local talent, this show captures the mixed-medium spirit – with over 25 visual artists – that patrons have come to expect from these one-night-only events. The excitement begins at 4:00pm with a three-hour gallery preview. The main event starts at 7:00pm and closes at 2:00am. Admission is $15.00 before 9:00pm and $20.00 for the remainder of the night. The evening begins with a preview of the exhibit from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. There is a $5 suggested donation during this period, however, children twelve-years old and younger are allowed free entry. Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family during the preview hours and take advantage of the Kids Kreativity Zone. Overflowing with art supplies, the Zone provides a supervised space where youth can dive into their own expression while parents explore the exhibit. While all ages are welcome during the preview, attendees must be at least 21-years old to enter after 7:00pm.

Curator and event producer, Michelle Berc is motivated to inspire the community through creativity.  Each event theme is her playground to do so and, with the current theme, “Dreams”, she will take you on an exploration of dreaming with your eyes wide open.  The theme is eloquently expressed by one of Berc’s favorite quotes by Pulitzer prize-winning American Playwright & Dramatist Marsha Norman: “Dreams are illustrations… from the book your soul is writing for you.”

For Create:Fixate’s 12th anniversary celebration, the creators have teamed top graffiti artists with Los Angeles-based contemporary fine artists to create large mural-like paintings merging the two respective art styles in a creative mash up.  It’s not about painting walls or hanging art on walls, this is about bringing down the walls of the art scene. Artists have been carefully selected and the outcome is unpredictable, as the talent will be completing each mural art piece just days before show time.  One of the two C:F warehouse galleries will be solely dedicated to this project, while the other gallery will exhibit pieces from over a dozen additional artists exhibiting a stunning array of painting, photography, multi-media, interactive installation, and performance art that will ignite hearts and minds.

Proceeds from the exhibit benefit C:F’s nonprofit programs, “Create:Fixate Exhibits” and “Young Creatives” – a program encouraging at-risk youth to express themselves through creativity.

Optical Lounge highlights include:

•    Dytch 66 – The artist was easily influenced by the West Coast life-style of skateboarding, break-dancing, and graffiti art. Graffiti became a way of life, and the artist known today as Dytch, was born.

•    Mallory Morrison – Her use of dancers in an underwater environment allows Morrison to challenge the boundaries of people photography – utilizing weightlessness to tell stories, which explore the depths of movement and composition.

•    Lindsay Carron – The artist utilizes ballpoint pen to render invigorating life-size depictions of the beautiful creatures of our earth.  Carron is an art activist working and living in Venice, California and traversing the globe, bringing animal (and human) rights issues to the forefront through her energetic and passionate art.

•    Tewsr – His hybrid style of graffiti art melded with an air of realism continually pushes the boundaries of traditional aerosol art and illustration.

The Audio Lab, otherwise known as the music portion of the evening, completes Create:Fixate’s vision.  Musical highlights for the evening include:

•    Adm Collins – A veteran in the tech-house scenes in Chicago and New York, Collins will delve deep, playing his own edits and productions. Get ready for a feast of his Brooklyn Beats.

•    Valida – When DJing, Valida’s specialty is a seamless blend of music styles with a reputation for fearlessly fusing everything from disco to country and beyond.

•    Holloys – The band is best known for their ever evolving sound, drawn from a diverse range of cultural traditions and musical genres, which culminate with its beat-heavy blend of trance, dance, disco punk, and Afropop.

•    GG 4Tet – Led by composer/saxophonist Geoff Gallegos, the band also includes Shaunte Palmer on trombone, JP Maramba on bass, and Cesar Ventura on drums.  While each cat can play across genres, their Create:Fixate set will be all about a jazz thing.

Create:Fixate is an arts organization that has been serving the emerging art and music community of Los Angeles for over a decade.  The organization is best know for its signature blend of art and music, along with thousands of art lovers and partygoers in massive, and at times intimate, warehouse locations and alternative spaces on a quarterly basis.  Founder Michelle Berc curates, produces, and hosts these ambitious group art shows that present creative beings from around the globe, with an emphasis on the local talent of Los Angeles.  The production team also includes Music Coordinator Andrea Giardina, a core team of volunteers, and dedicated advisory board members. Awe-inspiring painters, photographers, sculptors, and multi-media artists exhibit alongside an equally impressive array of Los Angeles’ finest DJs and musicians.  Each event’s aural artists are poised to create a soundtrack for the night that transforms this from a simple art show into one of the city’s most anticipated art events.

As part of Create:Fixate’s community outreach efforts, the organization continues to empower youth through art with its Young Creatives program.  C:F has been working with A Place Called Home (APCH) for over a year and partnered with Creative Youth over the summer of 2012.  Both organizations serve at-risk youth through after school activities.  Dreams will feature student artwork from each program.

Currently, there are two sessions running through the month of October at APCH. C:F is working with their art students on a themed art project to be exhibited at the Dreams show along with spoken word performances from students in their creative writing and music classes.  APCH is a safe haven in South Los Angeles where underserved youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well being; and are inspired to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world.  http://www.apch.org

Over the past two years, Scott Howe and Ana Olivo have managed to bring a summer program to about 30 students each year through personal fundraising.  This year, Creative Youth hosted the summer arts camp at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy Burlington campus. Creative Youth offeres inner-city youth the opportunity to be exposed to and participate in extracurricular activities that they do not readily have access to such as cooking, sports, gardening and art clubs.

Aaron Mostow
Art is in the blood. It is the root that was planted way back in the family tree and continues to grow deeper into the ground and higher into the air. Aaron Mostow grew up in a family of artists, where he naturally developed a grasp on creativity and an understanding of his artistic talent.  Mostow does not hesitate to delve into the process of creation.  He is a true renaissance man with versatility as a painter, musician, multimedia designer, and visionary.

At Create:Fixate’s Dreams exhibit, Mostow will present his PRSPECTV project.  “A look at the world from the eyes within us.”  It is a larger than life art installation, combining sculpture with 3D projection mapping.

Adam Yasmin
Adam Yasmin is a conceptual digital artist making original works entirely on iOS, using only an iPhone and/or iPad. He is a biophiliac: drawing on math, nature, science, and symmetry. The images are a composite of original digital photography and vector-based graphic design. His key subjects are architecture and nature, while creating narratives by shifting perspectives and embedding thoughtful geometries. Some of his influences include Andy Gilmore and Ernst Haeckel.  His works are primarily being used as album/cover art for bands and recording artists.

Connie Yim
Connie Yim’s drawings are spontaneously, intuitively, rapidly, energetically, freely, and emotionally drawn with black ink pen over a colored ink wash.  She relies on chance and accidents such as random marks, ink washes, and ink drips as means of surfacing symbolic images from her subconscious.

Yim was born in Seoul, South Korea as the youngest of five daughters, and immigrated to America at age 11. She received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Long Beach in 1995, obtained her teaching credential in 1996, and finished her Master of Fine Arts at Azusa Pacific University in 2011.  She has been teaching high school art for seventeen years and currently is an art teacher at Alhambra High School.

Czer
Czer is best known for his bright colored characters and funky letters, sometimes combining both.  He is highly influenced by old skateboard and tattoo art.

Dytch66
Born in Los Angeles and raised in the South Bay, Dytch began drawing at a very young age. By the ‘80s, he was easily influenced by the West Coast life-style of skateboarding, break-dancing, and graffiti art. Graffiti became a way of life, and the artist known today as Dytch, was born.

Graffiti allows him to share his art with the city he loves. The art form has challenged him, not only as an artist, but has shaped him as a person. Dytch feels, “It’s the voice of the people: you can see expressions of all art forms in graffiti.” In the ‘90s, Dytch wasn’t satisfied with his creations and decided to explore different mediums through workshops and art classes. He developed a better foundation of color theory and perspective and with this newfound direction, he was able to fine-tune his skill.

Dytch’s talents have allowed him to work in television, film, video, commercial advertisements, and become a muralist. Dytch has been traveling the world and taken part in graffiti and fine art events since 2006. Through his travels, he has been able to explore graffiti at an international level, and has found a greater purpose and understanding of his art form. He has also given back to his community by educating the public about graffiti art through teaching workshops and high school art classes. Dytch resides in Los Angeles as a successful full-time artist.

Fabian Bolanos
Fabian Bolanos’ early years were split between Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. His career as a photographer and filmmaker for live music events stimulates the troubling images he depicts in his paintings. He predominantly uses acrylics on canvas, and also paints nude models during his live performances. His alter ego manifests itself as PURO ARTE, a ritualistic process inspired by Santeria and Brujeria. His abstract expressionism comes to life on the canvas by painting spirits: “I can’t see them but I can feel their energy when I paint them.”

Gus Harper
Gus Harper was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. For the last fifteen years he has worked full-time as an artist. His first show was at Ground Zero in Marina Del Rey, and has since shown his work in New York, Denver, New Orleans, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, and at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). His best-known work is from the series “Signs of A Benevolent Universe.” His most recent solo show, Daydreams, the Awakening was at Gus Harper Studios, which he maintains full-time in Los Angeles. His next body of work, “Fade To White,” will be displayed at LOCZIdesign in San Francisco on October 24, 2013.

Guy Ellis
Guy Ellis began his art career in Christchurch, New Zealand when he became involved in a Graffiti Art Mentor Program with the Christchurch City Council. On a quest to clean up tagging around the city, he mentored young people into mastering the art of mural painting. His commercial painting experience ranges from outdoor murals for schools, sports centers, storefronts, festivals, as well as creative interiors and backdrops for television, film, and theatre.

He received his BFA from the Christchurch Polytechnic School of Art and Design and is heavily involved in both fine art practice as well as commercial art solutions. While in New Zealand, his mentoring evolved into heading a program that instructed urban art to at-risk youth as well as maintaining a large graphic design clientele. Ellis considers himself lucky to be able to combine all of his passions once again and work as a painter, urban art teacher and graphic designer here in Los Angeles. He has painted murals for various companies, including FX Network’s Sons of Anarchy trailer.

Hengone
Hengone combines the fluid, unpredictable nature of aerosol with the texture and sharp angles of the city to create beauty where least expected.

Jason Krause
Jason Krause is a fine art painter residing in Los Angeles. His early passion for printmaking has influenced his style of painting by creating a process of layers with subject intermixed. His style explores metamorphic transformations of nature and science in precarious scenes with various overlapping patterns. For many years, he has studied images related to the sciences, including biology, geology, and physics. These elements appear intermingled with one another in ways that create a look into mysterious dimensions and worlds of his imagination.

Jeremy Crabtree
Jeremy Crabtree’s paintings are made to evoke a comparison between the dreams when we sleep and the dreams of our waking existence. Behind the many layers of color and texture lie varying methods of communication felt collectively from moment to moment, or from space to time. He uses whatever forms of paint or plaster is convenient at the time to maintain the spontaneity felt in our daily lives. He lives and works in Los Angeles.

Jordan B. Nice
Jordan B. Nice is a self-taught painter who grew up in rural New Jersey. After studying cinematography at University of Miami, he backpacked throughout the Rockies and the Pacific Northwest. He then moved to New Orleans, where he started painting.  Inspired by nature, Nice became more and more fascinated by the ability of light and shadow to tell a story. He paints only from his mind’s eye as he manifests visionary landscapes that touch the hearts of viewers. His work speaks to a place in all of us that still feels like home. Nice hopes his work will inspire people to protect unspoiled parts of their planet.

Jyll Ethier-Mullen: aka Sickfeet
Jyll Ethier-Mullen is an artist, illustrator, and painter of jovial characters in whimsical lands. The primary land is known as Sickfeet, and it is the contextual world in which her characters adventure and interact with one another. It is a world of joyful tones, organic emotions, reminiscent textures, and inspiring tales. There is something strangely familiar in her work, which reminds the observer of something in the past, while filling it with a fresh and hopeful commentary. Her creative output includes a Sickfeet book, more art shows on the East and West Coast, and a plethora of creations varying from magnets to toys.

Ethier-Mullen says of her work, “I want to express truths and real life experiences through an unreal world of extraordinary lands and characters.” She finds her sources of inspiration in Björk, Tim Burton, Dr. Seuss, Roman Dirge, Clayton Brothers, Jeff Soto, Edward Gorey, Barry McGee, Shepard Fairy, Blaine Fontana, Gustav Klimt, Gama-Go, and the like. Ethier-Mullen resides in Somis, California, a small farm town, with her husband Travis, her son Teagan, and her dog Dunkers.

Leyla Akdogan
Leyla Akdogan is a Los Angeles-based, pop surreal artist.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California, and has continued her studies with jewelry design at the Gemological Institute of America, Illustration at SCAD University’s extension program in Lacoste, France, and graphic novel illustration at Art Center in Pasadena. She spent three years as a resident artist at The Hive Gallery & Studios in Downtown LA. Akdogan has worked mostly in watercolor and ink, though she has recently been exploring cross-pollinated multimedia pieces incorporating painting, film, animation, sound, and installation.

Lindsay Carron
Through extensive travels and an insatiable need for adventure, Lindsay Carron has been inspired to use art to bridge cultural gaps, raise questions, and communicate.  Her inspiration is sourced from observing behavior patterns in the daily life of humans and comparing it to those witnessed in animals in natural and artificial environments.  What can two magnificent male elk clashing antlers together in battle tell us about two men butting heads in the vigorous climb to power and prestige?  Instinct, adaptation, and socialization manifest in the ability for animals and humans to survive. Yet endangerment, habitat loss, extinction, and war act strictly against the natural tendency to live.  What does it take for these two groups of life forms, animals and humans, to truly thrive?  The artist utilizes ballpoint pen to render invigorating life-size depictions of the beautiful creatures of our earth. Carron is an art activist working and living in Venice, California and traversing the globe, bringing animal (and human) rights issues to the forefront through her energetic and passionate art.

Lori Dorn
Lori Dorn successfully photographed actors and models in Los Angeles for over twenty years.  Staying with her love of visual beauty, this time focusing on colors and textures, she is expressing emotions in a new and more direct way. Creating something that seems familiar, she makes abstract paintings reminiscent of nature’s elements and organic shapes. She works mostly in acrylic with large canvases. Residing in Southern California, filled with inspiration, she paints everyday.

Mallory Morrison
Los Angeles-based photographer, Mallory Morrison, has been honing her skills in underwater photography for the past several years and continues to experiment with new processes and concepts.  Originally a dance photographer, Morrison blended her photography skills with her twenty-four years of dance experience, bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions.  Morrison’s evolution into underwater photography allowed her to introduce another element to this union and extend the range of her talent even further.  Her use of dancers in an underwater environment allows Morrison to challenge the boundaries of people photography – utilizing weightlessness to tell stories, which explore the depths of movement and composition.

Maximilian Buschman
Maximilian Bushman loves primary colors and his work begins there, choosing one color to start with and then branching out. Outside of the color choice, he doesn’t really know what he’ll create in the end, but his work is generally a reflection of the chaos he sees and feels in the everyday world, and in himself. He uses a variety of mediums and tools to construct his paintings, mashing them together blindly to create his worldview. His upbringing with eight siblings in a dysfunctional “Brady Bunch” environment has no bearing on his work whatsoever.

Michael Heltebrake
Michael Heltebrake has been a “closet artist” for most of his life, always doing art in his spare time. Growing from the “closet artist” and becoming a professional in his industry, this past decade has been an exciting time for the evolution of his art; he’s produced work with energetic passion. Realizing that creative expression is a catalyst for the wellspring of internal happiness, Heltebrake has willingly made way for the muse. His inspirations in his current pieces have existed consciously in his mind for years, waiting to be externalized on the canvas. Heltebrake’s aesthetic style is yet to be defined, but is strongly influenced by his technical skills as a builder and his love affair with the line.

Mogely
Mogely is a young artist coming out of the San Fernando Valley with an eye for the “unseen.” At an early age, he was exposed to the realm of graffiti through his cousin, and soon after began his journey as a creative through the possibilities of a spray can. His paintings and illustrations often involve characters that seem to come from the stuff of dreams, bringing forth scenes from faraway places with no explanations. These characters are simply points of interest, and act as vehicles to express a collection of experiences and moments in time.

Natasha June
Growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa, during times of immense social and political change shaped Natasha June’s view on the wider world and how she reflects it in her art. Her work aims to draw a visceral response: educating, challenging, and engaging the viewer on issues overlooked or intentionally avoided, while at the same time using its beauty to uplift the spirits. June is able to combine the raw and uncompromising expressiveness of charcoal with the subtle nuances of oil and the lush vibrancy of acrylic, to produce her unique creations. Techniques such as exposing patches of virgin paper and working in graduated series are a way for June to contrast the certainty of completion with the nakedness of beginning. June’s desire to push her creative boundaries once more in experimenting with new techniques, materials, and subject matters, and she is excited to incorporate her new adventures into her art forms.

Ngene Mwaura
Ngene Mwaura is a third-generation artist from a family of writers and storytellers. He comes from Kikuyu, a farmland fifteen miles outside of Nairobi, Kenya. Unlike his father, Mwaura  Mureithi (author of The Adventures of Thiga), Ngene has found illustration to be his truest form of storytelling.

His work is a timeline of his perception and experiences to date. His work takes you from the farmlands of Africa, through the art world of Europe, and most recently to Los Angeles, where he’s working on his latest work, “Masks,” an expression of what he thinks the African Mask could have evolved into if the African tradition hadn’t progressively dissipated. He has studied under several artists, including Ndasuunye Shikongeni, Fred Mutebi, Henry Mujunga, Rafael Zarza, and Joyce Wellman. His expertise is in silk-screening, etching, acetate printing, carton printing, and woodblock printing.

T.E.W.S.R. continues to explore the use of practical self-taught methods of observation to create a more surreal shine to his work. Born and raised in Orange County, California and now located in Los Angeles, Tewsr works in various mediums: aerosol, acrylic, sculpture, graphic design, and virtually anything within reach. His hybrid style of graffiti art melded with an air of realism continually pushes the boundaries of traditional aerosol art and illustration.

Ty Bennett
Ty Bennett is a self-taught artist whose preferred mediums are painting and drawing.  He is currently seeking to push the limits of symbolism as reality, beyond the universal, to the hidden personal realm, which he calls, “primitive magic.” Bennett hopes to continue this process in order to achieve insight into his neurosis, the connection between imagination and the occult. He hopes this will help him become ever more engrossed and enmeshed forever in the work itself. For Bennett, the process of seeing an image as a form of psychological cubism, and changing its form according to his will, changes the content.

WinstonRylee
WinstonRylee is a native to Los Angeles and has been working as an artist since 2008. He was greatly influenced to be creative from a young age by his mother who is still a talented painter of abstract art and equestrian portraits.

WinstonRylee’s creativity is driven by his interaction with the natural world. “When I am outside my creative mind is flooded with thoughts, the ideas of building, tinkering, and playing,” he says. He works mostly with reclaimed wood to create sculpture and functional art. His signature style is using a pyrographic technique to render graphics and symbols that resemble Polynesian and North Alaskan line work.

To sum up WinstonRylee’s artist belief is simple: “Create with your mind through your hands. Create something tangible. Create something real.”

Kristine Schomaker
Kristine Schomaker is a new media and performance artist, painter, and art historian living and working at the Brewery artist complex in Los Angeles, California. She received her BA in Art History and her MA in Studio Art from California State University, Northridge. For over 14 years, she has been working with various interdisciplinary art forms, including online virtual worlds to explore notions of online identity and the hybridization of digital media with the physical world.

Whether physical or virtual, the object-based work Schomaker creates combines elements of color-based gestural abstraction, animation, pattern, design, neo-Baroque, and Populence. Using installation, text, photography, mixed media, video, and performance for her ongoing conceptual project “My Life as an Avatar,” she visualizes a narrative and dialogue with her virtual persona, Gracie Kendal.

Matthew LaPenta
Constantly connected, our eyes glued to a glowing screen, sharing and updating on a minute-to-minute basis… these are the realities of living in our society today.  Matthew LaPenta’s work seeks to explore this relationship by examining the impact of our constant consumption of technology, social media, and entertainment.

Themes of control, obsession, dependence, and hypnosis are explored in the work. “I’m attempting to provoke a conversation about digital media and it’s effects on our culture. Are we using them for social good or just to brag to one another about our luxuries?”

LaPenta has exhibited in the Venice Art Crawl and the Downtown LA Art Walk. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where he studied art all throughout his adolescence. LaPenta attended graduate school in Chicago and now works as a commercial art director.  He moved to Venice, California in 2012, where he now lives and works on his art.

Maxwell Coppola
Maxwell Coppola’s work mixes youthful innocence with disturbing imagery to create ironic works of art. Coppola’s naive style, combined with his nostalgic subject matter and sense of form, create something truly unique. While continuing to paint, Coppola has begun to create artwork out of school supplies, candy, blocks, and toys, among other nostalgic items. He was born in Newport, Rhode Island and raised in Middletown, Rhode Island. He now lives and works in Los Angeles.

Fashion / Jewelry Designers:

Brooke Benson Designs
Brooke Benson is an emerging designer working and living in Venice, California. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Theater, her creativity began to extend to other art forms. Her jewelry designs are inspired by her extensive travels throughout Southeast Asia, Nepal, and the Middle East. There is a distinct feeling that is captured in the designs, revealing a uniquely raw, yet refined, style. Using spiritual symbols, gold, wood, and semi-precious stones, her pieces are created to ignite the divine creative energy within each of us and enhance our awareness to the beauty that lies within. Each one of these energetic adornments carries a special essence that is felt by all who wear it. Recently written up in Daily Candy, her creations “blend the earthy with the ethereal.”

Christina Bullard
Those who love wisdom investigate many things.  It is this understanding that drives Christina Bullard’s professional evolution, shapes her creative expressions, and inspires her art into the world.  Bullard’s innate artistic instinct is to synergize multiple materials such as glass, ceramics, metals, water, sound, light, and other media into dynamic and visionary installations.  Bullard is passionate about working outside of the box with a wide range of skill sets to push the possibilities of material, form, experimentation, mixed media, and the elements.

Delevo Designs
After graduating from Columbia College, Deborah Vogt became a founding member of The Conjugate Projekt, Transamoeba Studios and The Chicago Art Department, participating in the creation of many collectives, multitudes of events, and performance art installations throughout Chicago. She began creating her line of jewelry, Delevo designs, in the year 2000, eventually traveling to Bali to work with and learn from master craftsmen there. She now divides her time between curating and singing in her band, Early Bird Circus. Her jewelry is handcrafted, elegant, and simple, using fine woods, sterling silver and gold, precious and semi-precious stones, and recycled materials to create universal and distinctive designs.

Fahmina
Topanga eco-designer Fahmina is redefining the thought that leather can be green and eco-conscious. “100% of the leather we use is pre-consumer waste, salvaged from factory cutting tables,” says Fahmina. The Bangladeshi New Yorker model reconstructs gorgeous, handmade leather accessories from reclaimed and pre-cycled leather. Mixing colors and textures fearlessly, she creates elegant design that is chic, urban, and utilitarian, handmade with excellent quality.

Mena by Misty Rose
For Los Angeles fashion designer Misty Rose, Mena is the culmination of a childhood dream.  Combining her appreciation of vintage fashion with modern urban elements, Rose strives to construct a line of bold and timeless statement pieces. Mena is playful and sexy, urban and vintage, timeless and of the moment. Each garment is lovingly handcrafted by the designer herself, from design to patternmaking to construction.

Pothos Jewelry
“Pothos” means longing, and to live out our longing is a philosophy for life. DJ Sebiseb (SD mixmasters)
DJ Sebiseb has persisted learning about different genres of music to perfect her art and bring her programming and mixing skills out to the world. She now brings her energy and devotion of music to clubs around southern California. She has been featured on local radio stations like KUCI 88.9 FM and Super Estrella 107.1 FM. Originally from France, she also brings a European touch to her mixes, making her a DJ that you don’t want to miss out on.

GG 4TET
Led by composer/saxophonist Geoff Gallegos, the GG 4TET spawned from a seven-month jazz residency.  Joining him are Shaunte Palmer on trombone, JP Maramba on bass, and Cesar Ventura on drums.  Each of the musicians draw from a diverse musical background, having toured with a variety of artists over the years.  While each cat can play across genres, the Create:Fixate set is all about a jazz thing.

Holloys (Live)
Hailing from Los Angeles, Holloys was formed by Jim Brown in 2003. The band’s name is just as magical as their sound, stemming from Brown’s belief that through their music, the band is channeling energy frequencies from a place called Lake Land to a place called Everything (also known as Earth). “Holloys” are defined as the intelligent energy frequencies that transfer information. Regardless of their philosophy, the band is best known for their ever-revolving sound, drawn from a diverse range of cultural traditions and musical genres, which culminates with its beat-heavy blend of trance, dance, disco punk, and Afropop.
