Bootleg Theater will present the world premiere of Circles, the new play by Lisa Harris, opening in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 5, 2015 and running through Saturday, March 28, 2015. The work, directed by Andrew Heffernan, is an incendiary tango between the anima and animus. Featuring Harris and Blake Adams, Circles grapples with the fundamental mysteries of human connection. Harris is best known as the original producer of the OBIE Award-winning international hit, Mabou Mines DollHouse. Performances run approximately 75 minutes, with no intermission, and start nightly at 7:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings for the four-week run. The Ebell of Los Angeles presents Unframed, an art exhibit celebrating Camille Waldorf’s new book of the same name. The Thursday evening reception is free and will take place in the Ebell Art Salon on April 10, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The exhibition will include 20 contemporary paintings and drawings by the artist, all of which are also featured in the pages of Unframed, which is due out on April 17, 2014, with advance copies available at the exhibition. Award-winning actress and playwright Diz White is set to release her spine-tingling collection of true stories, Haunted Cotswolds, through The History Press this Halloween season. Set in what many consider the most beautiful part of England, White, a Los Angeles-based British expat, recounts the numerous paranormal events that have occurred in the region while simultaneously documenting the Cotswolds’ eerie architecture and fascinating history. Pieced together from both historic and present-day sources, the 96-page paperback book is filled with tales of ghosts, ghouls and the undead from every corner of the Cotswolds, the second most popular tourist destination in the UK. Included are stories of tortured headless kings, stark-raving mad butchering inn keepers, buried alive country squires, burned at the stake nuns, and other undead who walk among us.
