Arts organization Create:Fixate (C:F) presents Serendipity on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles. For over a decade, C:F has established its unique signature blend of presenting vibrant visual art and music in an immersive cultural experience. These one-night-only events feature top emerging talent from around the globe, with an emphasis on the local talent of Los Angeles. The excitement begins at 4:00pm with a three-hour gallery preview. The main event starts at 7:00pm and closes at 2:00am. Admission is $15.00 before 9:00pm and $20.00 for the remainder of the night.

JNA Gallery at Bergamot Station Art Center is pleased to present Invitation to a Dream, the first Los Angeles solo exhibition of work by California artist and designer, from Monday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The gallery will showcase a collection of approximately 30 small mixed media works and a dozen freestanding sculptures by LaBeouf. An Artist Reception will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The Ebell of Los Angeles presents Unframed, an art exhibit celebrating Camille Waldorf’s new book of the same name. The Thursday evening reception is free and will take place in the Ebell Art Salon on April 10, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The exhibition will include 20 contemporary paintings and drawings by the artist, all of which are also featured in the pages of Unframed, which is due out on April 17, 2014, with advance copies available at the exhibition. Stop Telling Women To Smile (STWTS) is a public art project and exhibition that addresses gender based street harassment created by Brooklyn, NY based artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. The work attempts to address gender based street harassment by placing drawn portraits of women, composed with captions that speak directly to offenders, outside in public spaces. Coming to Los Angeles in March (12th through the 19th), a variety of activities will be conducted including group discussions in Santa Monica, South LA, East LA, Downtown, plus the capturing of LA women’s stories via real-time drawing during Fazlalizadeh’s residency in LA and a special signing event at Downtown LA’s Art Walk for which she is a Featured Artist for the month of March. The Rachel Rosenthal Company (RRC) presents Instant Fairy Tales, a brand new series of original fairy tales for the 21st century at Espace DbD in Los Angeles. Instant Fairy Tales: The Longest Winter, the series’ inaugural offering, which features an allegorical tale about learning to care for the environment, will be held on Saturday, January 25, Sunday, January 26, Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9, 2014. The performances, by Rachel Rosenthal Company’s TOHUBOHU! Extreme Theatre Ensemble, begin at 4:00pm and 7:00pm on Saturday, and 2:00pm and 5:00pm on Sunday. Fishtown’s Highwire Gallery is pleased to present MicroCosmic, an exhibit of 2-dimensional works by Philadelphia artists Joshua Gabriel, Rochelle Marcus Dinkin, and Rachel Isaac, running from Friday, December 6, 2013 through Saturday, December 29, 2013. Each of the three MicroCosmic artists uses intricate detail and layers to create their own worlds, inhabiting the space between memory, fantasy, history, and the galaxy. Arts organization Create:Fixate (C:F) presents Dreams on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles. Beyond C:F’s signature blend of vibrant artwork and eclectic music produced by local talent, this show captures the mixed-medium spirit – with over 25 visual artists – that patrons have come to expect from these one-night-only events. The excitement begins at 4:00pm with a three-hour gallery preview. Parents are encouraged to bring the whole family during the preview hours and take advantage of the Kids Kreativity Zone. Overflowing with art supplies, the Zone provides a supervised space where youth can dive into their own expression while parents explore the exhibit. While all ages are welcome during the preview, attendees must be at least 21-years old to enter after 7:00pm.

The first-ever Los Angeles performance of electro-acoustic duo Aaron Dilloway and Jason Lescalleet will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 8:00pm. Part of the SASSAS sound. series, the concert features two of the most respected American underground experimental/noise artists performing at 356 S. Mission Rd., a new venue created by renowned artist Laura Owens.
