JNA Gallery at Bergamot Station Art Center is pleased to present Invitation to a Dream, the first Los Angeles solo exhibition of work by California artist and designer, from Monday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The gallery will showcase a collection of approximately 30 small mixed media works and a dozen freestanding sculptures by LaBeouf. An Artist Reception will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The solo exhibition of LaBeouf’s visionary work is a featured element in JNA’s Mother’s Day offerings, which also include exhibitions of Vintage Americana as well as a group show in adjacent galleries. Stepping Up, a multimedia art exhibit about rising up to meet challenges, opens officially to the public with an artist reception on Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Rampart Village office of the United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW), west of Downtown Los Angeles. The brightly colored, primarily figurative exhibition features works by artists such as Oscar Magallanes, Keba Konte, and Paul Barron. Stepping Up is the newest gallery installation by ULTCW, which is part of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The artist reception, which features a DJ, light refreshments, and exhibition artists in attendance, will run from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The ULTCW offices are located at 2910 Beverly Blvd. 3rd Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90057 (877-698-5829).

The Beacon Arts Building (BAB) continues its Critics-as-Curators series with TEL-ART-PHONE, a unique art exhibition that investigates the creative process by mimicking the classic children’s game of “Telephone,” opening Saturday, May 28, 2011. Curated by Coagula Founder Mat Gleason, TEL-ART-PHONE, kicks-off with an opening reception featuring live painting and catering by Literati Bar & Grill from 6:00 to 10:00pm on May 28. Among the 80+ artists contributing works to the show are Ray Beldner, Tim Biskup, Coop, Sean Duffy, Carlee Fernandez, Gronk, George Herms, Rosalind McGary, Dave Naz, and Robert Williams. The exhibit runs for five weeks closing on Sunday, July 3, 2011 with a Critics-as-Curators panel discussion and brunch reception from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Art Dimensions is proud to present Fertile Dreams, an exhibit by Los Angeles based artist Freyda Miller. Integrating assemblage, photography, and installation, Miller explores the complex aspects of the maternal psyche.
