Critically acclaimed singer-composer-actor Naama Kates is gearing up to perform at Molly Malone’s on the night of Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10:00pm. The appearance is in support of her latest album, Souled, which was released earlier this fall. Presented by Tall Tails Entertainment, the event will feature Kates on piano and vocals. She will be joined on stage by award-winning producer Cyrus Melchor (music production controller and guitar), Joseph Harvey (cello; to be confirmed), Steuart Leibig (bass), and Emiliano Almeida (drums). Black Hi-Lighter (BHL) – the Highland Park, Los Angeles glitter-garage psych rock band – is launching a new live event series leading up to the June 2014 release of its new album on L.A.-based label, Phaedra Records. The as-yet untitled LP follows the band’s 2013 full-length, Bite the Bullet, which earned support from Alternative Press, KCSN, Origami Vinyl, KCRW,Amoeba Music, The Independent FM, and music blogs from Boston to the UK. The band begins a hotly anticipated monthly residency – “The Black Hi-Lighter Affair” – at the Belasco Theater in Downtown L.A. Thursday, April 3, 2014.
