Coin & Ghost, LA’s theatrical home for remixed mythologies, will present its latest World premiere, Bad Hamlet, at the end of July, as the inaugural production of its second season. The emerging theatre company’s new work—devised by the ensemble and directed by Rob Adler—is an irreverent, interactive, and inventive play that places Shakespeare’s masterpiece directly up against the many interpretations of it, whether accurate, misremembered, or re-invented entirely. Bad Hamlet will run from Thursday, July 25, through Saturday, August 24, 2019, at New American Theatre in Hollywood. Overtone Industries is proud to present a revival of one its very first shows, Katy Cruel: A Play with Songs, running for two performances over the second weekend of June on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 2019 at a private site-specific location near Burbank, California. Directed by O-Lan Jones with libretto and music by Jones and Kathleen Cramer, Katy Cruel is an intense slice of life that takes place during the American Revolutionary War where we see the beginnings of America. Bootleg Theater will present the world premiere of Circles, the new play by Lisa Harris, opening in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 5, 2015 and running through Saturday, March 28, 2015. The work, directed by Andrew Heffernan, is an incendiary tango between the anima and animus. Featuring Harris and Blake Adams, Circles grapples with the fundamental mysteries of human connection. Harris is best known as the original producer of the OBIE Award-winning international hit, Mabou Mines DollHouse. Hollywood Horrorfest (HHF) kicks off on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 3:30pm with screenings of competition films and a red carpet ceremony for The Howling at 7:30pm. At 11:00pm, the festival invites horror fans to ANOTHER red carpet event… the West Coast premiere of Afflicted. Fresh from its multi-award winning success at Fantastic Fest, the film is set to open on April 4th (in theaters and on VOD). Its L.A. debut with feature the writer/director/acting team of Derek Lee and Clif Prowse in attendance.
