The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS) is pleased to present sound. at 356 S. Mission Rd.: Aaron Dilloway / Jason Lescalleet / John Wiese. The first-ever Los Angeles performance of electro-acoustic duo Aaron Dilloway and Jason Lescalleet will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 8:00pm. Part of the SASSAS sound. series, the concert features two of the most respected American underground experimental/noise artists performing at 356 S. Mission Rd., a new venue created by renowned artist Laura Owens. Opening for Dilloway and Lescalleet is Los Angeles-based John Wiese, founding member of the concrète grindcore band Sissy Spacek and an alum of SASSAS’s recent Tape Music concert. The Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS) presents sound. at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook: MURAL, featuring internationally recognized experimental duo Jim Denley (Australia) and Kim Myhr (Norway) on Sunday, May 5, 2013. MURAL’s site specific work will be inspired by the Overlook – the site itself will dictate the trajectory of the musical structures created in the space. Accompanying MURAL in realizing this new SASSAS commission will be eight Los Angeles area musicians including Matt Barbier, Ted Byrnes, Archie Carey, Claire Chenette, and Daniel Corral.
