Overtone Industries, in collaboration with By The Souls of Our Feet (BTSOOF), is proud to present Part I of their epic tale, Cynosemma: A Dirge from the Dog’s Tomb, running for four performances over the weekend of Friday, August 17th through Sunday, August 19, 2018. Co-Directed by Nathan Singh and Sabina Zuniga Varela with music by O-Lan Jones and libretto by Megan Breen, Cynosemma is a ritualistic opera ripped from the myth of Hecuba. Part I is a ceremonial exploration of the ancient but immediate clash between possession and liberation. The infamous Queen of Troy (played by Jones), along with her daughters and a tribe of women face off with the men responsible for the fall of their city. The limited engagement will take place at Son of Semele. Audience members are invited to stay afterwards for refreshments and a post-show symposium.

Green Galactic is pleased to announce the release of Los Angeles-based electronic musician Morgan Hendry’s latest project, Longcove, on March 30, 2018. The 30-minute album, which was composed as one continuous piece, was created entirely out of sounds found around a small inlet in Chamberlain, Maine called Long Cove where Hendry’s family has multigenerational roots. What was originally intended as a reflection on time and memory became a call to arms after the United States pulled out of the Paris Agreement in June 2017. Following a decade as the drummer/keyboardist for the acclaimed instrumental rock band Beware of Safety, Hendry has been releasing music under his own name for several years, including live outdoor modular synthesizer performances and experimental pieces drawing from his technical background in Astronautical Engineering. Once released, Longcove will be available digitally through http://morganhendry.bandcamp.

Award-winning film Bouncing Cats is the inspiring documentary of one man’s attempt to create a better life for the children of Uganda through the unlikely tools of hip hop and breakdance. Narrated by Common and featuring interviews with Will.I.Am, and K’Naan, the story follows the legendary Crazy Legs of the Rock Steady Crew and b-boy Abramz, the founder of Breakdance Project Uganda (BPU), on a journey to unify, empower and inspire youth in the war torn country that has been called one of the worst places on earth to be a child. Poverty, disease, and a brutal, mindless war in the region have divided families, displaced millions and led to the abduction and mutilation of tens of thousands of children resulting in the deterioration of identity and culture.
